De Bortoli Wines Calendar 2012

Forty-eight thousand of our beautiful De Bortoli calendars are finally ready to hit the shops. This is our eighth year on the project and as it’s one we always look forward to – not least for the good food, wine and generous hospitality enjoyed at the Yarra Valley shoot.

The calendar has created quite a following over the years and this allows us to be increasingly creative with it. As a progression from the strong colour theme of 2011, we introduced bold geometric shapes together with whimsical patterns to show-off the wines and recipes (many of which are provided by members of the De Bortoli family). The result is modern, earthy and on-brand.

With groves in both Peru and Australia, Oasis Olives approached Design Energy to create a brand for their new olive oil range. The Oasis Olives brand conveys an artisan, hands-on approach to harvesting and freshness and quality of the product.

After the success of the Oasis Olives branding, the company approached us to create a second brand for them, Olivos. The brief was to create a new brand that connected with the Oasis Olives flagship brand, for a mid-range market, whilst maintaining the same message of quality and style.

The creation of Olivos depicts the fluid flow of olive oil whilst creating a strong typographical brand. Our design inspiration came from Spanish and French style vintage posters. The colours and printed textured varnish are a link back to the original Oasis Olives label.
